EY Amsterdam in the Cross Towers was one of the first EY offices worldwide to enfold the new global workplace concept according to the design guidelines EY@work. A combination of optimal acoustics, a great variation in types of workplaces and smart positioning of support functions results in attractive spaces to meet, concentrate and collaborate in an overall comfortable environment.
The emphasis on the spectacular views and an outspoken choice of materials and color also make this an identity rich office which anchors to the building architecture while also providing a gentle human scale. Without losing the required differentiation of transparency and privacy, the strict aligning of views through the office makes the entire floors feel flood with daylight, obtaining a high quality appearance.
In first stages of the design a number of pilot floors were layed out, to test the open workplace concept as well as the types of workplaces. An intensive study and testing led to these configurations of meeting, touch down and concentration facilities. After realizing this project, Fokkema & Partners Architecten was elected the architect of choice to implement the EY@Work concept in other EY offices in the European region.
