De Kroon is a new multitenant building in the city center of The Hague. The users are welcomed on the first floor in the grand and serene atrium. The interior of this atrium, designed by Fokkema & Partners, houses not only the reception desk and waiting area, but accommodates informal meeting areas as well. Special care has been taken to improve the acoustics of the hall. This is done by integrating acoustic solutions in the custom made furniture. For example the reception desk is covered in felt and the planters are made of acoustic panels.
