Among the projects in our portfolio, there are many stories that become more and more interesting and shine more brightly over time. State Office 'de Knoop' in Utrecht is such a project. With a user centered approach we were selected to transform the former Knoopkazerne, a military compound, into a contemporary office an meeting HUB. The consortium for the PPP with an exploitation phase of 20 years consists of Cepezed, Rijnboutt and Fokkema & Partners Architecten for the design and Strukton, Ballast Nedam and Facilicom as the performing parties.
The design is timeless, durable and efficient. Given the complexity of the design brief, it is fantastic to receive recognition from both users and collegues that the design is valued on a daily basis as well as by the jury of a renowned design magazine.
We are passionate about transformations, exploring the values in the existing building and creating a new sense of place building on these ingredients. Read more here
