Rabobank set out to move its regional head office in Rotterdam to a new location. Fokkema & Partners Architecten was selected to make the interior design for the new head office of Rabobank with focus on serving corporate clients. Rabobank will occupy 5 floors in the high-rise of FIRST Rotterdam and part of its Ground Floor area.
FIRST Rotterdam is situated at Weena, diagonally opposite Rotterdam Central Station and has a BREEAM excellent rating. Rabobank joins NautaDutilh and Robeco as one of the largest tenants of the building. With the latest commission by Rabobank, each selected Fokkema & Partners Architecten to complement the generous building architecture (Architekten Cie. 2016) with an identity rich, sustainable and comfortable workspace design which is tailored to its daily residents.
The assignment for Rabobank covers 5,500 m2. On the Ground Floor, a semipublic zone accommodates meetings with business partners and clients. Seminar spaces and consultation rooms will be situated along a lush green inner courtyard. In the high-rise, in addition to 4 office floors, one floor is set up as a contemporary working café. This will act as a central HUB with spaces for collaboration while inducing sharing of knowledge and chance meetings. It also houses the lunch and break out facilities. Rabobank, operating on the basis of cooperative principles, is committed to include its clients and therefor incorporates the local identity of Rotterdam into the design concept. Other leading themes for the design are user wellbeing and sustainability. Completion is due by the summer of 2019.
